I have a statement, more like a disclaimer, to make before I get into the details of my 12 hours of closet cleaning experience. When we moved into our home in May 2001, I was 8 and 3/4 months pregnant with Luke. It was a blizzard when we moved in, ask my Dad who flew in from Georgia to help with our move :-). I didn't clean my closet before we moved out of our other house, it was enough to pack up the house being really pregnant and all. Once in the house, I was ordered by Doctors to keep my feet up and not do anything...ha! ha! Luke was born on May 30th and the closet hasn't had a chance since then. It has served as a closet for my clothes and shoes from 20 years ago to the present day, hats, cleaning supplies, toys I have taken from the boys and forgotten about, baskets, a space heater that Luke used (and would turn on) as an amplifier for his guitar, a box of books that I bought maybe 5 years ago, and finally, the long wood shelf on the floor in the photo, this was part of our headboard arrangement in our old house. Plus, what would a closet be if I didn't keep all my empty boxes which I was certain there would be an ideal use for in the future...collecting lots of dust ended up being their purpose. Poor things.

This is the best part! I pulled this Lands' End box out from under some clothes hanging on the lower rack of my closet shocked, I mean shocked that there were a pair of jeans and black sweater jacket inside still in their plastic covers. Then I was just dumbfounded when I looked at the date I ordered these clothes: November 1, 2006...3 YEARS AGO! This was the lowest point to my closet cleaning experience...had I really let it get this bad???? My goodness!

VOILA!! Allow me to show off my clean, organized, up-to-date closet. Isn't it beautiful?? If you can't find me, look for me enjoying my "new" closet.
