What a special morning I had this last Saturday. Nathan escorted me to Mom's Tea at Harmony School where all of us hardworking Moms were pampered with a time of leisure, engaging entertainment by both our children and professionals, and lots of tears and laughter.
For a short while, Nathan and his Pre-K friends sang us songs as they were dressed to go to a Ladybug Ball. Nathan was a Spider :-). Nathan stood as the tallest boy in all the Pre-K students. Moms kept commenting to me how lucky I was that I could see Nathan during the show since he stood nearly 4" or more inches taller than any other child. Of course, not knowing that everyone could see him, Nathan continually made funny, weird faces to the other kids, and occasionally was caught picking his nose...Ugh.
One of the fun gifts we receive, albeit on a big movie screen in front of the other 200 Moms, is a drawing created by our child that shows us together. Nathan says that he loves washing my hair (which of course he never has done, so go figure). I haven't any idea where my hair ends and the wash tub starts, I can't wait to share the drawing with you. But what is even more alarming, is each teacher, over the microphone in the big gymnasium, shares her conversation with our child about such things as: How do you know your Mommy loves you? What is your Mom's favorite thing to do? When does your Mom look pretty? COMING SOON: Nathan's drawing and the exact words Nathan shared about me with EVERYONE in the school :-).
